The Virgin Mary
We should always be grateful to Our Lady the Virgin Mary for saying "Yes" to God and agreeing to be the mother of our Lord.
When she was visited by the Angel Gabriel all those years ago, times were very different. It would have been a great scandal for an un-married woman to become pregnant. It was even more outrageous to claim He is the Son of God. Yet despite her fears of shame, rejection and ridicule, not to mention her own safety, Mary trusted God and said "Yes".
Hail Mary, Mother of God. Thank you.
